New Year Firepower for 2026: TAIPEI EAST POWER Adds Tall Korean Setter SHIN Seung-Hun for the Second Half of the Season

New Year Firepower for 2026: TAIPEI EAST POWER Adds Tall Korean Setter SHIN Seung-Hun for the Second Half of the Season

Welcoming the new year of 2026, TAIPEI EAST POWER Professional Volleyball Club announced today, the 1st, that Korean setter SHIN Seung-Hun will join the team on loan for the second half of this season.
The loan was completed through an agreement between the two clubs, with SHIN Seung-Hun loaned out by KB Insurance Stars of the Korean professional volleyball league (KOVO V-League). He is expected to wear the TAIPEI EAST POWER uniform in the second half of the season, strengthening the team at setter and bringing more stable tactical organization with greater vision in the new year.
Standing 195 cm tall, SHIN Seung-Hun is one of the tall setters who have drawn the most attention in Korean volleyball in recent years. He attended Kyung Hee University, and in 2019 he was selected for Korea's U21 national team, serving as the starting setter at the Men's U21 World Championship and gaining a full range of international experience and exposure to high-intensity competition.
In the 2021–2022 season, SHIN Seung-Hun was selected sixth in the first round of the KOVO men's rookie draft, formally stepping onto the professional league stage.
At the professional level, his excellent on-court judgment, steady tempo in distributing the ball, and the tactical advantage of his height have given him a value at setter that differs from the traditional mold, allowing him to raise the height of the attack and add variety to the team's overall offense.
In terms of playing style, SHIN Seung-Hun is known for his composure. He keeps his tempo steady even under heavy pressure and excels at distributing the ball in the way the situation calls for. His threatening serve is also an important weapon that can directly shift the course of a match, bringing real benefits to the team's transition between offense and defense.
The TAIPEI EAST POWER club said, "SHIN Seung-Hun is a setter who fits the direction modern volleyball is heading. His height, his understanding of tactics, and his ability to read the game will help the team build a clearer attacking tempo and more layered play on court during the second half of the season in the new year."
Ahead of the upcoming second half of the season, SHIN Seung-Hun also recorded a self-introduction video, greeting TAIPEI EAST POWER fans at the start of the new year, expressing his anticipation for a new environment and new challenges, and saying that he will prepare himself fully and fit into the team's system as quickly as possible.
With SHIN Seung-Hun joining the roster in the second half of this season, TAIPEI EAST POWER will gain further tactical options and flexibility at setter, and the team's overall play will see new adjustments and new possibilities in the new year of 2026.
EAST POWER welcomes a brand-new year and a tall setting force from the KOVO V-League:
