With the inaugural season of the Taiwan Professional Volleyball League (TPVL) officially under way, TAIPEI EAST POWER Professional Volleyball Club held a press conference today (Jul 4) to announce the creation of a new cheer team brand, Tokki Cutie, and to open a public audition program, in the hope of lifting the home-game atmosphere through professional cheer culture. Selected members will join the club's roster and travel with the team to this season's home games, becoming an important bridge between courtside culture and fan interaction.

The press conference was attended by General Manager Michael Tsao, Head Coach LEE Kuo-Yuan, and player representatives KAO Wei-Cheng and TSENG Hsiang-Ming, marking the official launch of the team's cheer program. The club also invited Korean YouTuber Judy, representing OM Entertainment, to a partnership signing ceremony, announcing a crossover collaboration between sport and entertainment to build a more professional home-game culture together. The new season's jerseys and identity design were unveiled at the same event, showcasing the team's new image.

General Manager Michael Tsao said: "We want to build the most approachable professional team, the one that interacts best with its fans. Tokki Cutie is not just a courtside performance unit; it is one of the cores of our home-game culture."

The club said that creating Tokki Cutie is not only about adding a visual highlight courtside; it also carries the important task of strengthening the home atmosphere and conveying the team's spirit. To build a complete cheer team, the club will select promising members through rigorous auditions and professional training, and develop them into part of a professional home-game culture.

Public recruitment starts today, and the audition will be held in three stages:

• Application period: from today until Jul 17
• The application form is available on the TAIPEI EAST POWER official website: https://eastpower.tw
• Online voting: Jul 22 to Aug 6, held on the Lang Live platform
• Grand final: held in person on Aug 14 to select the final Tokki Cutie members

The selection will take stage performance, warmth and interaction, online popularity, and personal character into account. The club stressed that Tokki Cutie is not positioned merely as a visual focal point; its members must also represent the team's spirit and build genuine connections with fans.

Captains Based in Taiwan All Season as a Taiwan-Korea Cheer Team Takes Shape

The cheer team's partner is OM Entertainment, founded by Korean YouTuber Judy, and the captains are LEE So-Young and PARK Eun-Hye, who each have seven years of experience cheering at professional events in South Korea. They will be based in Taiwan for the whole season, attending 12 weeks of home games, taking charge of team training and stage choreography, and bringing Korean-style professional cheering and stage rhythm to home games.

The club is also planning professional training programs covering Korean-style cheer dance, rhythm training, hair and makeup styling, social media management, participation in YouTube channels, a KOL development program, and exchanges at professional cheer events in South Korea. Selected members will sign a one-year cooperation agreement and take part in Lang Live streams and brand promotion assignments.

Judy said: "We hope to use the Korean-style cheering we know best to create a cheer culture for TAIPEI EAST POWER together with Taiwanese fans. At future home games, we will always be there." The TAIPEI EAST POWER club noted that a cheer team is not just a performance unit but an indispensable part of team culture. General Manager Michael Tsao stressed: "Cheerleading is an important and distinctive culture in Taiwanese professional sport. In the first year of professional volleyball in Taiwan we place particular importance on it, and in the future we will build a professional courtside team with infectious energy to fight alongside us."
