TAIPEI EAST POWER continues to strengthen its roster ahead of the 2026–27 season. The club officially announced today that Canadian middle blocker Navreet SINGH, who stands 201 cm tall, has joined TAIPEI EAST POWER. With his outstanding blocking, extensive experience in European professional leagues, and steady, mature play at both ends, he will be an important part of the team in the new season.

SINGH, 26, was born in Ontario, Canada. He stands 201 cm tall, with a spike reach of 355 cm and a block reach of 341 cm. He took up volleyball at the age of 11 and came through Canada's comprehensive grassroots development system, winning gold with Team Ontario at the 2017 Canada Games and earning a place in Canada's U21 national team development program. At university he played for Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University) and then McMaster University, where he served as captain and helped his team win the OUA championship, showing outstanding leadership and playing ability.

After turning professional, SINGH played for a number of clubs in Portugal, Spain, and the Czech Republic, including SC Caldas, CD Cisneros Alter, SKV Ústí nad Labem, and Czech powerhouse Dukla Liberec last season. He also competed in the CEV Challenge Cup, gaining match experience against leading clubs from across Europe.

Blocking has always been SINGH's most distinctive strength. In the 2022–23 season he was named Best Middle Blocker in Portugal's Liga UNA, and the following year, after moving to the Czech Extraliga, he was again named the league's best middle blocker, earning the honor in two different countries' leagues in consecutive seasons.

Beyond his individual honors, SINGH has continued to test himself on Europe's demanding professional stage. His steady judgment at the net, mature reading of the game, and balanced play at both ends have earned him an excellent reputation in European professional volleyball.

Beyond his play on court, SINGH's life story has also drawn attention. His journey has inspired many young athletes, particularly in the Sikh community, encouraging more people to chase their dreams with courage while staying true to their identity and values.

Speaking about joining TAIPEI EAST POWER, SINGH said:

"I have always hoped for the chance to play in Asia, and Taiwan is a place I find very interesting. I received offers from other countries as well, but professional volleyball in Taiwan has grown quickly in recent years, and TAIPEI EAST POWER is working hard to build a competitive team with a clear vision, which makes me excited about this challenge. I hope my blocking, my attacking, and the energy I bring on court will help the team win more matches. I cannot wait to get to Taiwan and meet all the fans."

The TAIPEI EAST POWER club said that SINGH has come through Canada's full national development pathway and has built up years of experience in European professional leagues. Winning best middle blocker honors in both the Portuguese and Czech leagues in consecutive seasons not only shows his individual ability but also proves he can sustain a high level of performance across different leagues.

The club believes that SINGH's steady blocking, efficient attacking, and mature professional attitude will give the team greater strength at the net and more tactical options, helping TAIPEI EAST POWER meet the challenges of the new season and aim higher.
